Guru Arjan Dev was the fifth Sikh Guru and he is credited with completing the compilation of the Adi Granth, also known as the Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Arjan Dev took on the task of collecting and compiling the writings of the previous Sikh Gurus and other poets and holy men into a single volume.
