Who among the following is responsible for guarding the aircraft hangar ?

According to the guidelines issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), the responsibility for the security of an aircraft and its immediate environment, including the aircraft hangar, rests with the Aircraft Operator.

• Aircraft Operator: They are primarily responsible for guarding the aircraft against unauthorized access while it is on the ground, whether parked on the apron or inside a hangar.
• Airport Security Group (ASG): In India, this is typically the CISF. Their role is focused on the overall airport perimeter, terminal security, and anti-hijacking measures, rather than guarding individual hangars.
• Airport Operator: Responsible for the overall infrastructure and general safety standards of the airport.

While the ASG provides the outer layer of security, the internal security and access control for a specific hangar leased to or used by an airline are the duty of that operator.
