What does LAGs stand for ?

LAGs stands for Liquids, Aerosols, and Gels. This is a standard security term used by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and India's Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). These substances are restricted in hand-carry baggage on flights to mitigate the risk of liquid explosives. According to current security protocols, passengers are permitted to carry LAGs in their cabin baggage only if they are in containers with a capacity not exceeding 100ml each, placed within a single transparent, re-sealable plastic bag. Items exceeding this limit must be placed in checked-in baggage. Exceptions are typically made for essential medicines, baby food, and special dietary requirements, subject to security screening. This global standard was implemented to enhance aviation safety following security threats involving liquid-based improvised explosive devices.
