The Santhanam Committee (1962), officially known as the Committee on Prevention of Corruption, was appointed by the Government of India to suggest measures for checking corruption in public services. Its recommendations led to the establishment of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) in 1964 as the apex body for monitoring all vigilance activity under the Central Government.
