BrahMos is the name of:
Explanation
BrahMos is a short-range supersonic cruise missile developed through a joint venture between India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya. The name is a portmanteau of the Brahmaputra and Moskva rivers. It is recognized as the fastest supersonic cruise missile globally, capable of reaching speeds of Mach 2.8 to 3.0. The missile is highly versatile and has been successfully inducted into all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces—Army, Navy, and Air Force—allowing for launches from land, ships, submarines, and aircraft. Initially, its range was limited to 290 km due to international missile control agreements, but following India's entry into the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) in 2016, extended-range variants and hypersonic versions like BrahMos-II are being developed.
