The first Indian Satellite, Aryabhatt, was launched in the year:
Explanation
Aryabhata, India's first satellite, was launched on April 19, 1975 [4]. Named after the famous 5th-century Indian mathematician and astronomer, the satellite was built by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was launched from the Kapustin Yar cosmodrome in the Soviet Union using a Soviet Kosmos-3M rocket carrier [1]. The satellite weighed approximately 360 kg and was designed to conduct experiments in X-ray astronomy, aeronomy, and solar physics. Although an electrical failure on the fifth day in orbit led to the cessation of data transmission from its scientific instruments, the mission was a landmark achievement that demonstrated India's capability to design and fabricate a satellite. This successful launch marked the beginning of India's independent foray into space technology and paved the way for future missions like Bhaskara and the Rohini series [3].
