Gwadar port is located in
Explanation
Gwadar Port is a strategic deep-sea port located in the Balochistan province of Pakistan [1]. It is situated at the apex of the Arabian Sea and the mouth of the Persian Gulf, approximately 460 km west of Karachi and 72 to 75 km east of the border with Iran [3]. Historically, Gwadar was under the suzerainty of the Sultanate of Oman until Pakistan purchased the enclave on September 8, 1958, for £3 million [2]. It officially became part of Pakistan on December 8, 1958 [2]. Today, it serves as the third major port of Pakistan alongside Karachi and Port Qasim and is a central component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) [4]. The port is designed to act as a regional trade hub, providing maritime access for landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics [1].
