INS Vikramaditya is the name of:
Explanation
INS Vikramaditya is a premier aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy. Originally built in the Soviet Union as the Admiral Gorshkov, it was purchased by India in 2004 and commissioned into service in 2013. The vessel underwent extensive refitting in Russia to convert it from a cruiser-carrier into a pure Short Take-Off But Arrested Recovery (STOBAR) aircraft carrier, featuring a signature ski-jump for launching fighter jets. It currently serves as one of India's two active aircraft carriers alongside the indigenously built INS Vikrant. The ship is a vital asset for India's maritime power projection in the Indo-Pacific region, capable of carrying a fleet of MiG-29K fighter aircraft and various helicopters. It is currently based at the Karwar naval base.
