The `Instrument of Instructions` was a set of guidelines issued to the Governors of Provinces in British India for the exercise of their discretionary powers. These guidelines were incorporated into the Constitution of India in 1950 as `Directive Principles of State Policy`. The Directive Principles are non-justiciable in nature, meaning they cannot be enforced by the courts. They are aimed at guiding the State in making laws and policies that promote the welfare of the people and establish a just and equitable society.
