MONEX, an acronym for the Monsoon Experiment, was a major international scientific project conducted to study the dynamics of the Indian monsoon. It was organized in 1973 as a joint venture between the Soviet Union and India, involving the deployment of research ships in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea to investigate monsoon phenomena [1]. The experiment aimed to understand the physical processes driving the seasonal wind reversals and rainfall patterns.
