Which one among the following polymers is used for making bullet-proof material ?

Polyamides, specifically aromatic polyamides known as aramids, are the primary polymers used in manufacturing bullet-proof materials. Since the 1970s, aromatic polyamide fibers such as Kevlar and Twaron have been the industry standard for ballistic protection. Kevlar is a high-strength synthetic fiber that is approximately five times stronger than steel, making it exceptionally effective at absorbing and dissipating the energy of high-velocity projectiles. While ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is also used in modern ballistic plates, the term 'polyamide' (encompassing Kevlar) is the classic and most widely recognized answer in the context of bullet-proof vests and soft armor. Other polymers like polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene are generally unsuitable for ballistic impact due to their mechanical properties, though some research explores recycled polystyrene composites.
