However, the statement that the Himalayas are wider in the east is incorrect. Geographically, the width of the Himalayas varies from approximately 400 km in the west (Kashmir) to about 150-160 km in the east (Arunachal Pradesh) [5]. Thus, the mountains are significantly wider in the west than in the east.
