In which one of the following States is Loktak Lake situated?
Explanation
Loktak Lake is situated in the state of Manipur in Northeast India [2]. It is recognized as the largest freshwater lake in the region. The lake is globally famous for its unique 'phumdis', which are heterogeneous masses of vegetation, soil, and organic matter at various stages of decomposition that float on the water's surface [2]. A significant portion of these phumdis forms the Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is the world's only floating national park and the last natural habitat of the endangered Sangai (brow-antlered deer) [3]. Due to its ecological importance, Loktak Lake was designated as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention in 1990 and was later included in the Montreux Record in 1993 [2]. It remains a vital source of livelihood for local communities and a major tourist attraction in Manipur.
