PM VANI Yojna is related with

PM-VANI (Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) was approved by the Union Cabinet in December 2020. It is an initiative launched by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to proliferate broadband internet through public Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.

The scheme operates through a decentralized framework involving Public Data Offices (PDOs), which can be small local shops or entities providing Wi-Fi services. It also includes PDO Aggregators (PDOAs), App Providers, and a Central Registry maintained by C-DOT. The primary objective is to boost digital connectivity and support the "Digital India" mission by providing low-cost, high-speed internet access to the masses without requiring a license fee or registration for the PDOs, thereby encouraging ease of doing business and digital inclusion.
