The Sunni Triangle is a densely populated region in Iraq, located to the north and west of Baghdad, predominantly inhabited by Sunni Muslim Arabs. The vertices of this triangular area are generally identified as Baghdad (southeast), Ramadi (southwest), and Tikrit (north).

Other significant cities within or near this region include Fallujah and Samarra. The term gained international prominence following the 2003 invasion of Iraq as it was a center of insurgent activity. Basra, however, is located in the far south of Iraq near the Persian Gulf. It is a major port city with a predominantly Shia Muslim population, placing it well outside the geographic and demographic boundaries of the Sunni Triangle.
