Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is an eco-friendly fuel used as an alternative to petrol and diesel. It is primarily composed of Methane (CH4), which typically accounts for 80% to 95% of its volume. Methane is the simplest hydrocarbon and burns relatively cleanly, producing fewer pollutants like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides compared to heavier hydrocarbons.

• Methane (C): The main constituent of natural gas and CNG.
• Propane and Butane (A & B): These are the primary components of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which is derived from petroleum refining or natural gas processing.
• Ethane (D): A secondary component found in natural gas in much smaller quantities than methane.

CNG is produced by compressing natural gas to less than 1% of its standard volume, making it easier to store and transport in high-pressure cylinders.
