Correct:
B
Explanation
The Hathigumpha Inscription, located in the Udayagiri caves near Bhubaneswar, Odisha, was inscribed by King Kharavela of the Mahameghavahana dynasty in the 2nd or 1st century BCE. Written in Prakrit using the Brahmi script, it provides a chronological account of his reign.
In the 11th year of his reign, the inscription records that Kharavela destroyed a "Tramira-deha-sanghatam" (a confederacy or league of Tamil powers/states) which had allegedly existed for 113 years. This confederacy is generally understood to have included the Chola, Pandya, and Chera kingdoms.
- Ashoka's 2nd Major Rock Edict mentions the Cholas, Pandyas, Satyaputras, and Keralaputras as independent neighboring states, but not as a confederacy.
- Allahabad Pillar Inscription describes Samudragupta's 4th-century CE conquests.
- Junagadh Inscription of Rudradaman (150 CE) focuses on the repair of Sudarshana Lake and his victories over the Satavahanas.
