Correct:
A
Explanation
Bagor is one of the largest and most well-documented Mesolithic sites in India. It is located on the Kothari river in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. The site was extensively excavated by V.N. Misra in the late 1960s.
- Significance: Bagor is particularly famous for providing some of the earliest archaeological evidence of animal domestication (cattle, sheep, and goats) in the Indian subcontinent, dating back to roughly 5000–4500 BCE.
- Findings: Excavations revealed a massive quantity of microliths (geometric stone tools) and evidence of a transition from a hunting-gathering economy to a pastoral one.
- Other States: While Madhya Pradesh is home to the famous Mesolithic site of Adamgarh, Bagor is strictly associated with the Mewar region of Rajasthan.
