Your answer: —  ·  Correct: A

Explanation

In January 2024, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) submitted the first-ever nominations from India for the Wetland City Accreditation (WCA) under the Ramsar Convention. The three nominated cities are Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), and Udaipur (Rajasthan).

  • Udaipur: Known as the 'City of Lakes,' it is surrounded by five major lakes—Pichola, Fateh Sagar, Rang Sagar, Swaroop Sagar, and Kalyan Sagar—which are vital for the city's microclimate and groundwater.
  • Indore: Sirpur Lake, a Ramsar site in Indore, serves as a significant bird habitat and has been conserved through community efforts.

Since Bhopal is not among the numbered items, only Udaipur (1) and Indore (3) are the correct selections from the given list. Patna and Bhubaneswar have not been nominated for this accreditation.
