When did the Dandi March begin and when did it end?

Your answer: —  Â·  Correct: B

Explanation

The Dandi March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, was a landmark event in the Indian independence movement. It began on March 12, 1930, when Mahatma Gandhi and 78 followers set out from Sabarmati Ashram towards the coastal village of Dandi. The march spanned approximately 240 miles (385 km) and lasted 24 days.

Gandhi reached Dandi on April 5 and ceremonially broke the Salt Law on the morning of April 6, 1930, by picking up a handful of salt. This act of non-violent civil disobedience was a protest against the British monopoly on salt production and taxes. It served as the catalyst for the nationwide Civil Disobedience Movement. While January 26, 1930, was significant as the day 'Purna Swaraj' (Complete Independence) was first celebrated, it was not the start date of the march.
