Water availability (Option C) is a basic necessity for the sustenance of the troops stationed at the post. However, a post should not be "visible to all" (Option D). In tactical security, especially in sensitive areas like mines which may be prone to insurgency or theft, being overly visible makes the post an easy target for surveillance and planned attacks. Principles of camouflage and concealment are preferred to maintain a low profile while keeping the surrounding area under watch.
