Jaipur Airport was the first airport in India where the CISF was inducted for aviation security duties on February 3, 2000. Following Jaipur, the security of other major airports like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata was gradually taken over by the force. Today, the CISF provides security cover to over 60 airports across the country, making it the primary agency for civil aviation security in India.
