Recently, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh Governments signed a Memorandum of Undertaking for the linking of two rivers as a link project. Which are these two rivers?

The Memorandum of Understanding signed was for the Ken–Betwa river link. Official releases state a tripartite MoU was signed on 22 March 2021 between the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and the Union Jal Shakti Minister to implement the country’s first Ken‑Betwa Link National Project, funded primarily by the Centre and aimed at providing irrigation and drinking water to Bundelkhand areas [1]. Further official descriptions of the project explain that it transfers surplus water from the Ken to the Betwa via construction of the Daudhan (Dhaudhan) dam and a linking canal/tunnel system, establishing the Ken–Betwa interlink as the first major river‑linking initiative under the National Perspective Plan [2].
