Where is Mekong Delta located ?

The Mekong Delta is located in the southernmost part of Vietnam. While the Mekong River flows through six countries—China, Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Vietnam—the specific delta region is formed where the river divides into a complex network of distributaries and canals before emptying into the South China Sea in southwestern Vietnam. Known as one of the world's most productive agricultural regions, the Mekong Delta serves as Vietnam's 'rice bowl' and is essential for the country's fruit and aquaculture production. Although the river traverses Cambodia and feeds the Tonle Sap lake there, the actual deltaic landform begins south of the Cambodian border, primarily within Vietnamese territory.
