On January 15, 2023, Yeti Airlines Flight 691 crashed while attempting to land at the newly inaugurated Pokhara International Airport in Nepal. The aircraft, an ATR 72-500, was traveling from Kathmandu with 72 people on board (68 passengers and 4 crew members), all of whom lost their lives. This incident was Nepal's deadliest aviation disaster since 1992.
