The National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) launched by the Government of India fulfills the Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) enshrined in the Constitution of India. The DPSPs are a set of guidelines and principles that the state should keep in mind while making laws and policies for the country.

The NSAP aims to provide social assistance to the elderly, widows, and disabled persons who are below the poverty line. This is in line with the DPSPs enshrined in Article 41, which states that the state shall, within the limits of its economic capacity and development, make effective provisions for securing the right to work, to education, and to public assistance in cases of unemployment, old age, sickness, and disablement, and in other cases of undeserved want.

The Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties of the Constitution of India are not directly fulfilled by the National Social Assistance Programme. The Fundamental Rights are individual rights guaranteed to citizens, such as the right to freedom of speech and expression, the right to equality before the law, and the right to life and personal liberty. The Fundamental Duties are a set of moral obligations that citizens are expected to follow, such as respecting the national flag, upholding the sovereignty and integrity of India, and promoting harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood.
