CISF was first inducted in which one among the following airports?

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was first inducted for airport security at the Jaipur Airport on February 3, 2000. This significant shift in aviation security policy was a direct consequence of the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 in December 1999, which exposed vulnerabilities in the then-existing security system managed by various State Police forces.

Following the pilot induction at Jaipur, the Government of India decided to hand over the security of all commercial airports to the CISF in a phased manner to ensure uniform security standards across the country. The CISF created a specialized Aviation Security Group (ASG) for this purpose. Today, the CISF provides security cover to over 60 civil airports in India, including major international hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, handling anti-hijacking and perimeter protection duties.
