The brain receives and sends signals in the form of electrical impulses. These impulses allow communication between different parts of the brain and between the brain and the rest of the body. Electrical impulses are generated by neurons, which are specialized cells that make up the nervous system. When a neuron receives a signal, it generates an electrical impulse, also known as an action potential. This electrical impulse then travels along the neuron`s axon, a long, tube-like structure, until it reaches the end of the neuron. From there, the impulse can be passed on to other neurons or to muscle cells or gland cells, allowing for the transmission of information and the control of bodily functions.
