The Lodi dynasty was founded by Bahlol Lodi. Bahlol Lodi was a Pashtun (Afghan) noble who served as a governor in the Delhi Sultanate. After the death of the previous ruler, he seized the opportunity and took control of the Delhi Sultanate in 1451. Bahlol Lodi established the Lodi dynasty, which ruled over the Delhi Sultanate from 1451 to 1526. During his reign, Bahlol Lodi focused on military campaigns and expanded his territory. He also encouraged trade and commerce and was known for his administrative reforms. It was under his rule that the Lodhi Gardens in Delhi were built, which still exist today as a historical monument.
