The second Battle of Panipat was fought between Akbar and Hemu. Akbar was the Mughal emperor and Hemu was a Hindu king who ruled over North India. This battle took place in 1556 and was a significant event in Indian history. The battle was fought for control over the territory of Delhi and its surrounding regions. Hemu, also known as Hem Chandra Vikramaditya, had previously defeated the forces of Akbar`s regent, Bairam Khan. However, in the second Battle of Panipat, Akbar`s forces emerged victorious and Hemu was killed in battle. Akbar`s victory in this battle helped solidify Mughal rule over North India and marked the beginning of Akbar`s reign as emperor.
