The Swarajya Party was formed as a result of the failure of the Non-Cooperation Movement. The Non-Cooperation Movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 as a peaceful protest against British rule in India. However, the movement was called off in 1922 after violence broke out in Chauri Chaura, where a police station was set on fire by protesters. This led to disillusionment among many Indian leaders who had previously supported the Non-Cooperation Movement. In response to this, the Swarajya Party was formed in 1923 by leaders like Motilal Nehru, C.R. Das, and Chittaranjan Das. The party aimed to work within the existing political system and participate in legislative councils to push for self-rule and autonomy for India. Although the party had limited success in its objectives, it played an important role in shaping India`s independence movement.
