Which one among the following lakes is situated on the west coast of India?

Ashtamudi Lake is situated on the west coast of India in the state of Kerala [4]. It is a significant Ramsar wetland and part of the famous backwater system of the Malabar Coast [2]. In contrast, the other options are located on the east coast. Chilika Lake is a large brackish water lagoon situated in Odisha, south of the Mahanadi delta [5]. Pulicat Lake is located on the Coromandel Coast, straddling the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu [4]. Kolleru Lake is a freshwater lake in Andhra Pradesh, positioned between the deltas of the Godavari and Krishna rivers [3]. Therefore, while Chilika, Pulicat, and Kolleru are eastern coastal features, Ashtamudi is the only one located on the western coast [4].
