The satellites of Canada have contributed to the detailed and complete mapping of Antarctica. The Canadian Satellite RADARSAT, in particular, has been instrumental in this task. Canada`s RADARSAT-2, launched in December 2007, is capable of obtaining day and night imagery, irrespective of weather conditions, which is enormously valuable in mapping challenging regions such as Antarctica.
Option 2, France, has indeed been involved in space technologies, but it hasn`t specifically contributed to Antarctic mapping through its satellites.
Option 3, Russia, has a vast range of satellites for various purposes, but none has been significant in Antarctic mapping.
Option 4, The USA, with powerful satellites, has been involved in many space-based mapping missions. NASA`s Landsat series of Earth Observation satellites have been crucial for global mapping, but when it comes to the detailed and complete mapping of Antarctica, it`s the Canadian satellites that standout.
