The "Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action" is an agenda for women`s empowerment and gender equality. It is an outcome of the Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing, China in 1995. The declaration and platform for action set forth a comprehensive plan to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in various areas such as education, healthcare, employment, violence against women, and women`s participation in decision-making processes. It was convened by the United Nations and has since been an important framework for advancing women`s rights globally.
