The six systems of Indian philosophy, also known as the Shad-darshanas, are six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy that accept the authority of the Vedas and are considered to be the foundational texts of Hindu philosophy. They are as follows:
1. Samkhya
2. Yoga
3. Nyaya
4. Vaisheshika
5. Mimamsa
6. Vedanta
Lokayata and Kapalika are not part of the six systems of Indian philosophy. Lokayata, also known as Charvaka, is a materialistic school of philosophy that denies the existence of an afterlife, karma, and the authority of the Vedas. Kapalika is a Tantric sect that emerged in medieval India and is associated with extreme practices like the use of human skulls in rituals.
